One step at a time. That is what Benji boy is up to. (and his sisters) Just one or two steps here or there. No taking off. Just cautious steps. Then fast and furious crawling. But a couple cautious steps are better than no steps right?
He's still talking and talking and singing. The singing is hilarious. He sings into the girl's pink microphone and sways back and forth. So cute. He is getting his 7th tooth. On the bottom next to his right bottom tooth. He has hit the stage where he refuses to keep shoes and socks on. Fun! He is having days when he eats awesome and days when I think I have shoved a few bites in him. He has his opinions about food. Shaking his head, saying, "no, no, no." He says it really sweet and cute. He has loved saying Abby's name and tried to say Abigail for a long time. It used to come out, "Abiguh." Now he's saying, "Abigal." I just love watching his language and comprehension develop. His ears seem to be doing well. We had an infection about 2 weeks ago, but the nebulized hydrogen peroxide got rid of it. I'm so thankful.
Avery is also working on one step at a time in gymnastics. Her first meet was Saturday. She did really well. She was very nervous and had a lot of adrenaline going. That excitement caused a few errors here and there, but overall she did awesome. She didn't fall off the beam, which I was really worried about. She did great on vault and floor. Her only big issues were stepping out of bounds on floor and timing with the music and the bars. Ugh! Bars are so hard. She had way to much momentum going from her nerves. So I am praying at her next meet her nerves settle down. She had a really fun time competing. I am so glad she liked it. Her team was dressed as crayons. She was a beautiful gold crayon.
Abby has made some huge strides from taking one step at a time. After 2 years from our original eye diagnosis of amblyopia and strabismus, her doctor said she couldn't even apply that diagnosis to her anymore. Her eyes have corrected that much. Her doctor said that she has just made huge leaps. Her vision has improved so much. That was music to my ears. She said she could also see more brain organization that I was telling her that I could see at home. She said she was going to do some more testing on Abby and believed that we may be able to come less. I can't tell you how much easier that would make our life! Especially with little baby coming soon. Abby generally seems happier. Things are still difficult and there is still some crying and frustration, especially when really stretching her abilities, but overall things are looking up. She really likes the changes the doctor has made with her therapy homework and that really helps me. Less crying!
Baby is 26 weeks today. Wow! One week and we enter the 3rd trimester. Basically, no big changes except the chiropractor gave me an additional supplement for my varicose veins that seem to be working. Yeah! Other than that, everything is pregnancy as normal. Getting up ten times a night, never being comfortable, not being able to eat as much protein as needed, gagging on all my supplements, and TIRED, tired, TIRED!
So I am just taking each day one step at a time. : )
