Just a little phrase started by my sweet sister when she was all of 4 years old, and we continue to carry on her tradition. Can't say "ketchup or catch up" without adding "full of syrup." So now you know. Of course, you don't have the visual of my cute, little sister saying it while she disassembles Legos. But I digress....
Scot and I, attended a marriage conference hosted by Family Life at Embassy Suites in Rogers. It was awesome getting away and spending time with my number one! It was peaceful and we got to have uninterrupted adult conversation. It was heaven. The best part was at the end of the conference, one of the speakers, an ordained minister, led those who so desired, to renew our marriage vows. I have ALWAYS wanted to do that! Especially, since I now have a deeper understanding of that commitment. It was so sweet. I love you Scot!!
The kids had a great time left behind with our INCREDIBLE babysitter. We love you! They played and played. Benji boy has been recovering from croup and an ear infection, followed by a yucky cough. Despite all that, he did great.
Since our trip, I have been running lots of errands, finishing up school, implementing Sue Patrick's workbox system, going to Dr. appointments, and trying to get ready for our trip to Shreveport this weekend.
I have always had reading glasses, just haven't worn them. Since it's been so long since my last pair, I needed another eye exam and prescription. Avery joined me and Abby in the glasses department. Abby is THRILLED! She commented that she "feels loved" now that we have glasses. I can completely understand her feelings. So much focus and attention has to go to helping her. I think the glasses made her feel that there was just one more thing different about her. So now we are officially all the same in her mind, even though Avery and I are only wearing glasses for close up work. We picked out our glasses today and they will be ready next week. I can't wait to have our picture made in them for Abby.
Benji boy has gained 2 more teeth on top. He can now say, "bye-bye" appropriately and really well. He signed "thank you" today to Scot. Oh, he's so precious. He is on the mend and his personality and LOVE for his daddy brings so much joy to my day. All BOY!
We FINALLY, after several years of nagging (insert: politely asking) the Love of my life, have advanced video technology in our hands. Bye-bye HI-8 tapes! And after lots of searching for just the right one, and being completely (privately) humiliated by a young Target employee, I hold in my hands a REAL video camera, just in time for Benji boys 1st birthday. : )
Okay, just how was I privately humiliated by a Target employee. Well, you know after years of politely telling my husband that our technology was so far outdated that it was down right embarrassing, an enthusiastic Target employee, while trying to sell us a camera, blurted out, "It's nothing like those ancient HI-8 tapes they used to have (a really super long time ago). I don't know if you can even find those things anymore." I looked at Scot, who avoided my half smile. That's right, honey. Conceal the evidence. Make sure and tell him, if he's looking, we have one for sale.
So, once I get all these tapes converted to DVD, those days will be long gone. : ) Woo Hooo!!
