week in a nutshell

After, last week of a 3 day fever virus with Benjamin, we were looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Scot declared that Saturday we would do nothing. Well, nothing for him... but for me.... I took the girls to a birthday party, went Father's day shopping, and dealt with a still sick baby, oh yes, and cooking dinner. Poor Benjamin. On Saturday, his left ear drum ruptured. I knew his ears hurt... I just knew it. I told the doctor and he said some ridiculous things. Like, "babies don't localize pain, and babies don't run fever with ear infections." Is Marijuana legal and someone didn't tell me. Seriously. He is a well respected doctor. Where does he come up with this stuff. Along, with those crazy comments, he also told me that he didn't think Ben needed tubes in his ears. Why do I put up with this. You would think the government assigned me this doctor. So since I was right and he was wrong, I called the ear doctor back and begged them to call me when a cancellation became available so we could move his surgery date. They called. Yeah! He is going to have his surgery on Monday. I am so relieved. He is starting to nurse less and less. We are pretty much down to morning and night. And I was also able to cut out middle of the night feedings now that he is on antibiotics.

I digress... onto to Sunday. Father's day. I took Benjamin to a walk in clinic for his ear. They put him on antibiotics. Scot took the girls to church and then we went to NWA to see my dad. We had lunch at my parents. Chicken spaghetti. Yum! Although, I felt nauseous all day. Scot and the kids went on the boat and jet ski. They had a blast BTW. My sister brought her slip-n-slide and bounce around. All the kids enjoyed it. It was really fun to spend time with everyone.

Monday- I spent the day tending to the baby, catching up on laundry, cleaning, and having ladies bible study. Scot took the kids to Chuck E Cheese.

Tuesday- I had lab work done, took Abby to vision therapy, had to order homeschool books at Solid Rock, ate lunch at Marketplace, took the girls to gymnastics.

Wednesday-MORE laundry and then headed to NWA. I met my mom for lunch and we went shopping at Plato's Closet. I got some great clothes for cheap. I can't wait to go back. I also found the perfect piece for the school room at IO Metro. It was 25% off and then they called today and said it had dropped to 50% off. So I bought it. I can't wait to see how it looks. Oh, it's beautiful. It takes up one entire wall in the room from floor to ceiling. I just called someone last week to see about having the room built out. That costs a fortune, but I thought I could get an estimate and start saving. I am so glad I found this piece. Thank you Jesus. Then we had dinner with mom at Outback and headed home. Ben was in a much better mood. The girls were excited, because they found some cute purses at Plato's closet.

Thursday- Scot's not feeling well after cleaning out landscaping yesterday, but my yard sure looks nice. Poor honey. Ben is having a runny nose and pulling at his hurt ear constantly. I should have taken him to the chiropractor today. I took the girls to the library and they finished the summer reading program. They each got their name in a book. Abby chose to have her name in a Fancy Nancy book and Avery chose a book about Little Rabbit's New baby. They also received free pool passes, a McFlurry, free Taco, free fries, and free Chick-fil-A meal. We ate lunch with Scot at Pink Flamingo. Went home to do more laundry and get ready for gymnastics. We spent a little bit of time organizing the school room before gym. Benjamin spent time climbing the stairs with me or Abby. It's his new favorite past time. We went to gym. Ate dinner and got everyone to bed.

Looking forward to tomorrow... Ben has his one year doctor appointment and surgery clearance. Abby gets to have a lunch date with daddy at Wendy's.
