I am not going to start another post with a rant about procrastination. You only need to read my other posts to remind yourself of my delinquent ways.
Aubrey is 6 months old. If only for just a few more days! The little bunny, with her yummy smile, two tiny teeth, and big dimples, gets taller by the second. At her checkup, she weighed 15 pounds, 10 ounces and was 28 1/2 inches long! What? That is off the charts in case you are not familiar with the curve. : ) Like there is a 100% point, then you pass it and bam! There she plots. In about the 105th percentile. I don't know what I am going to do with my long, lean bunny, except put away the 6 month clothes and pull out the 9 months. Thankfully, the days are still warm and she can wear all her little dresses. Her sweet, chubby, long legs can stretch as far as they desire! Pants will be another issue on a crisp, fall day.
At 6 months, she can wave bye-bye, say da da and ma ma, sit up by herself, roll over, can complete a full circle when scooting around on the floor, and can push herself all the way up on her arms. She is almost to a hands and knees position but she ends up just scooting backwards when she pushes up because she likes to keep her legs stiff and kicking. She is just now trying to pull up on her bumper and crib rails which means we will be lowering the mattress today. So sad!! She is still nursing great, although with her 3rd tooth arriving any day, she likes to bite. OUCH! I have to be very quick and attentive, because she likes to bite once she's full. Of course, when I have tried to discipline her, she laughs. She's not used to me being firm with her and I guess thinks I am trying to make her laugh. I have been feeding her a bowl of rice cereal at night and about once a week we try out a jar of baby food. She's had pears, bananas, and apples. Trying out the baby food is the fun part. It doesn't matter what the flavor, she takes a bite, makes a bad face with her lips puckered and one eye closed shut, followed by the shiver. It keeps us all in stitches! She likes to play and put everything in her mouth. She is especially dangerous at this age. I have to watch Benjamin and her together. He likes to give her things that are too small. She sure does love her sisters and brother. She finds everything they do very entertaining. Separation anxiety has begun. She cries when strangers hold her, cries when I leave the room, cries if I walk by her. The usual. Sigh. Hate that part.
Aubrey has had quite the month. She has been back to Destin for a relaxing family vacation, tried baby food for the first time, moved to a big girl car seat, and now sits in a high chair at restaurants. Good for her. Sad for me. I feel like the baby days are slipping away.
Will it be my last posts about the sweet days of newborns and drooling toothless grins?
Typing it makes my baby lovin heart so sad.
